FAQ
Q.) Are these classes for beginners?
A.) All our classes are intended for all levels of students, from beginners to experts. In every class you will learn the recipes from the menu for that day as well as many more tips and techniques for everyday cooking. Classes intended for more advanced levels will be indicated.
Q.) Are the classes hands on?
A.) We specialize in Totally Hands On classes, where each student gets a chance to prepare (and eat!) the dishes from start to finish. However, due to the complex nature of some classes, we will occasionally have specially indicated Demonstration classes where each student gets to watch and learn from the chef instructor as he/she prepares the dishes before your eyes, and then serves tasting portions.
Q.) How much do I get to eat?
A.) Hands-on classes end in a full multi-course meal and nibbling throughout the cooking process is encouraged - it's part of what makes cooking fun! During Demonstration classes you will taste samples of everything made in class, similar to a tapas style grazing meal.
Q.) How many people are in the classes?
A.) In Demonstration classes there are up to 20 spaces. In our Totally Hands On kitchens there is room for 15. However we can accommodate much larger groups for certain interactive events.
Q.) Do we need to bring anything to the class?
A.) No. We provide all the equipment and food, as well as aprons for your use throughout the class. Your chef will even recommend wine parings to accompany the dishes prepared in class that you may bring in for a corkage fee of $5 per bottle.
Q.) Is there a student discount for items in your store?
A.) On the day of class, students receive a 10% discount in our Café, a selection of culinary delights.
